Day 1 : Santa Cruz In
Recommended flight from Madrid, arriving in Santa Cruz.
Transfer from the airport.
Lunch at a typical restaurant.
PM: City tour. Discovery of the city of Santa Cruz, the true economic capital of Bolivia. Visit to the main monuments, the main square with the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, built in 1609. You will explore the artisan market of the eastern indigenous community and a stroll through the Pirai neighborhood.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Santa Cruz – Samaipata
In the morning, departure by private vehicle to the village of Samaipata (“altitude rest” in Quechua), located at the foothills of the Andes at 1650 meters above sea level and on the edge of the tropical forest. En route, stop at the “Cascadas las Cuevas” to enjoy the natural pools and the beauty of the area.

In the afternoon, departure to the archaeological site “El Fuerte” and visit this ancient fortress built by the Incas to control the invasions of the Guarani Indians. Return to Samaipata in the late afternoon.

Day 3 : Samaipata – Refugio Los Volcanes
Departure in the morning to Amboró National Park, a natural reserve spanning over 600,000 hectares, ranging from 300 to 3200 meters above sea level, teeming with an exceptional variety of fauna and flora. Check-in at the eco-lodge “Refuge of the Volcanoes,” hidden deep in a valley. In the afternoon, hike in the park (self-guided hike or with the lodge’s guide). You can also take a dip in the waterfall located next to the lodge.

Day 4: Refugio Los Volcanes
Journey dedicated to exploring this superb park. Depending on the weather and your physical condition, you can enjoy hikes for up to 6 hours. Free hiking without a guide.

Day 5 : Refugio Los Volcanes – Santa Cruz
Morning at leisure at the lodge to relax or take a walk in the surroundings. In the afternoon, departure by private vehicle to Santa Cruz.

Day 6 : Santa Cruz – Sucre
Transfer to the airport. Flight from Santa Cruz to Sucre. Transfer from the airport.
Lunch at a local restaurant
PM: Departure to the Recoleta viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city of Sucre. Visit to the textile museum where different types of Andean textiles and weaving techniques from pre-Hispanic times to the present day are exhibited and explained. You will then walk down to the central square, where the main colonial buildings of the city are located, and visit the Casa de la Libertad, where the country’s independence was proclaimed, now turned into a museum about the history of Bolivia.

Day 7 : Sucre – Maragua
Early morning departure in a 4×4 towards the Chataquila Chapel (3650 meters) and the Frailles mountain range, the starting point of your hike on an ancient Inca trail (3 hours of mostly downhill walking, good shoes recommended). Upon arrival, the vehicle will take you towards Maragua, a hamlet in the middle of the crater. After the visit, back to Sucre in the late afternoon.

Day 8 : Sucre – Potosi
Private transfer to Potosi.
Lunch at a local restaurant
Guided tour of the city of Potosi and the Casa de la Moneda, where the first coins of the American continent were minted. In addition to learning about the history of the Casa de la Moneda, you will also learn more about the history of Potosi and its crucial role in the global economy in the 16th century due to its rich silver deposits.

Day 9: Potosi – Tupiza
Departure for a visit to the mines of Cerro Rico, the incredibly rich mountain in silver that brought prosperity to Potosi and Spain from the 16th century. Mine tours at Cerro Rico often shed light on the social and environmental challenges faced by mining communities, such as dangerous working conditions, poverty, and health issues related to exposure to toxic substances.
Excursion not recommended for people suffering from claustrophobia.
Transfer to Tupiza (approximately 5-6 hours by road). Transfer from the bus station.

Day 10 : Tupiza Trekk
Tupiza is surrounded by impressive rock formations, deep canyons, rivers, and green valleys, offering a multitude of options for trekking enthusiasts. Visitors can choose from a range of routes, ranging from simple day hikes to multi-day treks through the mountains.
We offer a full-day trekking excursion.

Day 11 : Tupiza – Quetena Chico
In the morning, you depart in a 4×4 vehicle for the beautiful Palala Valley towards El Sillar, amidst a stunning lunar landscape. You continue towards the mining areas of Nazarenito, Chilcobija, Cerrillos, Polulos, Río San Pablo, and visit the colonial ruins of San Antonio Viejo, El Torreón, and Laguna Morejón. Finally, you arrive at the village of Quetena. Check-in and overnight stay in a refuge (basic comfort).

Day 12 : Quetena Chico – Laguna Colorada – Ojo de Perdiz
In the morning, you continue in a 4×4 towards Laguna Polques and then arrive at Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur volcano (5960 m). Next, you traverse the Dali Desert with its fabulous ignimbrite formations. From there, you ascend to an altitude of 4900 meters to discover the Sol de la Mañana geysers and the volcanic craters emitting sulfur vapors and heavy waters. You arrive at Laguna Colorada where you spend the night.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel del Desierto Tayka (altitude: 4550 m).
Day 13 : Ojo de Perdiz – Colchani
In the morning, you leave Laguna Colorada and cross the Siloli Desert where you can admire the impressive “Stone Tree”. Then, you take the “Jewel Route” formed by the Ramaditas, Honda, Chiarkota, Hedionda, and Cañapa lagoons, where thousands of flamingos gather. You pass by the foot of the Ollagüe volcano (still active) and Tomasamil (5900 m) and visit the Salar de Chiguana. Arrival in Colchani by the end of the day.

Day 14 : Colchani – Uyuni
Very early in the morning, departure towards the Uyuni Salt Flats (3650 meters) to witness the sunrise from the Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the Salt Flats, before the arrival of tourists from Uyuni. From the top of this surprising “island”, you will enjoy an extraordinary view of the Salt Flats and the Thunupa volcano, surrounded by giant cacti. After breakfast, you cross this immense sea of salt towards Uyuni. You can stop for a walk, searching for “salt eyes”, and enjoy the amazing optical illusions and perspective crushes offered by this unique landscape. Along the way, have a picnic on this vast white carpet before reaching the village of Colchani, on the edge of the Salt Flats, where salt is traditionally harvested. Arrival in Uyuni in the early afternoon and visit to the train cemetery.

Day 15: Uyuni – La Paz

Lunch at a local restaurant
Visit to La Paz, a capital city nestled in an incredible setting, ranging from 4000 to 3200 meters above sea level. At the lower end of the city, you begin with a visit to the Valley of the Moon, a canyon where water has eroded the very friable rock into hundreds of fairy chimneys and slender pinnacles. Then, you ascend through the modern and residential neighborhoods to the historic center, where the presidential palace, parliament, and other colonial-era buildings are located. You will also take one of the many cable car lines to enjoy a magnificent view of the city and finish with a visit to the “Witches’ Market.”

Day 16 : TIWANAKU – Copacabana
Departure to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku.
Located approximately 70 kilometers west of La Paz, Tiwanaku is one of Bolivia’s most important archaeological sites. It was once the center of a prosperous civilization that thrived between 500 BC and 1000 AD. During your visit, you will learn more about the history and culture of this ancient people.
Tiwanaku is home to impressive ruins, including temples, palaces, ceremonial platforms, and carved monuments. Visitors can explore these monumental structures and learn more about their complex architecture and cultural significance.
Near the ruins, there is an archaeological museum displaying artifacts discovered at the Tiwanaku site. Here, you can admire sculptures, pottery, stone tools, and other objects that provide insight into the daily life and religious beliefs of Tiwanaku’s ancient inhabitants.
One of Tiwanaku’s most famous features is the Gate of the Sun, a precisely carved monolith that was once part of a temple. This remarkable piece of artwork is often regarded as a symbol of the Tiwanaku civilization.
The site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its cultural and historical significance. A visit to the site allows you to understand why it is considered one of the most important remnants of pre-Columbian South America.

Continuation towards Copacabana, a village located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 17 : Copacabana – Sun Island
Departure by boat for a visit to the Island of the Sun on Lake Titicaca, an immersive experience in a unique natural and cultural setting. You will discover fascinating archaeological ruins, traditional Aymara villages, and breathtaking landscapes with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Lunch is a typical meal with a magnificent view of the Royal Range.
The day often ends with a spectacular sunset over the lake, offering a magical moment to conclude this unforgettable visit.

Day 18 : Sun Island – Copacabana – La Paz
Return by boat to Copacabana and then to La Paz.
During the return journey, you can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and the majestic surrounding mountains.

Day 19 : La Paz – Coroico Coffee Plantation
In the morning, departure by private vehicle towards the Yungas region through the famous “Death Road”. After crossing a pass at 4700 meters, you descend to the Amazonian side of the Andes and gradually traverse the different ecological zones until reaching the tropical forest at less than 1000 meters above sea level. The winding and dizzying road offers breathtaking landscapes, among the most beautiful in Bolivia. Arrival in Coroico for lunch at a hacienda, followed by a visit.
In the afternoon, return to La Paz.

Day 20: La Paz – Santa Cruz OUT
Transfer to the airport.
Flight from La Paz to Santa Cruz.
Recommended flight: Air Europa.
