PERU PANORAMA: COAST, MOUNTAINS, AND JUNGLE
Day 1: Lima
Arrival to Lima and transfer to the hotel
Welcome to Lima, the enchanting capital of Peru! This coastal city is a captivating blend of ancient history and dynamic modernity. Stroll through the picturesque streets of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where majestic colonial buildings stand alongside fascinating museums.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Lima – Paracas
In the morning, depart from the hotel with your guide for a tour of Lima. You will discover the colonial center of what was, for over two centuries, the most important city on the continent, as well as the current life of this capital city of 8 million inhabitants, which embodies all the cultural and economic contrasts of today’s Peru.
Around noon, depart for Paracas by superior-class bus.
Arrival in Paracas in the late afternoon. Transfer and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Paracas – Nazca
In the morning, visit the Ballestas Islands, the “Galapagos of Peru,” home to several thousand sea lions and numerous marine birds. Return to the port and depart by superior-class bus towards Nazca. Arrival in Nazca in the afternoon and transfer to the Casa Andina Classic hotel. Next, depart by private vehicle to the Palpa Valley, where you can observe anthropomorphic figures drawn in the desert over 1000 years ago. You will also stop at a viewpoint to see two figures created by the ancient Nazca civilization and climb a hill to observe the enigmatic straight lines that stretch for over 10 kilometers. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : Nazca – Arequipa
Fly over the Nazca lines. In the early afternoon, transfer to the bus terminal to travel to Arequipa by superior-class bus.
Arrival in Arequipa late in the evening and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5 : Arequipa
Arequipa is the first high-altitude city on this trip to Peru, serving as a 2300-meter acclimatization stop before heading to the Andean plateaus. Situated at the crossroads between the coast and the altiplano, this colonial city with its spring-like climate offers a very pleasant stay. In the morning, visit the picturesque Yanahuara district, the Carmen Alto viewpoint with its magnificent view of the Arequipa Valley and the surrounding volcanoes. Then, visit the colonial center, the central market, the Company Cloisters, and the Santa Catalina Monastery, one of the most beautiful colonial monasteries in South America. Afternoon at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : Canyon de Colca
In the morning, depart for the Colca Canyon Ascend to the altiplano, over 4000 meters above sea level, and pass through the Aguada Blanca Reserve, where you can observe local wildlife such as vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, and viscachas. After crossing a pass at 4900 meters (the highest point of your journey in Peru), descend into the Colca Valley where you will have lunch in the village of Chivay (lunch not included). In the afternoon, enjoy a short acclimatization hike where you can relax in the thermal pools, reaching temperatures near 40°C. Overnight at the hotel
Day 7 : Canyon de Colca-Arequipa
Breakfast around 6 a.m. The vehicle takes you through the Colca Valley to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where you can enjoy an incredible view of the canyon, the river more than 1000 meters below, and the cliffs nearly 2500 meters across. This is also the place where you can observe the majestic flight of the condors, sometimes passing just ten meters away. A highlight of the trip! Afterwards, return to the more open and cultivated part of the valley for a few stops in typical villages. In the afternoon, you will cross the altiplano again and return to your hotel in Arequipa around 5 p.m. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Arequipa – Puno
In the morning, depart for Puno by superior class bus. After a few hours’ journey through the vast landscapes of the Peruvian altiplano, you arrive in Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Transfer to the Hacienda Plaza hotel and the rest of the day is free to explore the city and acclimatize to the altitude. Overnight at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 UROS ISLANDS
A full-day visit to the Uros Islands typically includes an in-depth exploration of these unique floating islands on Lake Titicaca. Visitors often start with a boat ride from Puno to reach the islands, where they can learn about the traditional ways of life and the culture and customs of the Uros people. Activities may include demonstrations of traditional crafts, such as weaving with totora reeds, as well as opportunities to interact with the locals. You will also enjoy panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and learn about the ecological and historical significance of these artificial islands. The day often ends with a boat ride back to Puno, providing a complete immersion into the fascinating world of the Uros Islands.

Day 10 Puno – Cuzco
In the morning, depart by tourist bus to the archaeological site of Pukara, one of the earliest civilizations of the altiplano, predating the Incas. Then stop at La Raya Pass (4370 meters), which marks the end of the altiplano and the beginning of the Andean valley where the Inca civilization developed. The journey continues with a visit to the Inca temple of Viracocha and the village of Andahuaylillas, home to the “Sistine Chapel” of Peru. Arrival in Cuzco, the capital of the Inca Empire, in the late afternoon. Transfer and overnight at the San Agustin Internacional hotel, located in the historic heart of the city.
Day 11 Cuzco
In the morning, departure by vehicle to the heights of Cuzco for a panoramic view of the city. Then, visit the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, made of enormous stone blocks arranged with incredible precision. Descend back to the city with a 45-minute walk through the narrow streets of San Blas, admiring the Inca walls and the famous twelve-angled stone along the way. Continue your walk through the city, crossing the main squares and visiting the central market, a colorful and picturesque place reflecting the current life in Cuzco. The afternoon is free to enjoy the charm of the most beautiful city in Peru and of the trip. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 Cuzco – Pisaq – Ollantaytambo
The Sacred Valley of the Incas stretches between Pisaq and Ollantaytambo and includes several major Inca constructions and some of the most beautiful landscapes of the trip. You will visit Pisaq, its large craft market, one of the best in Peru, and its Inca city. You will discover the mysterious Inca terraces of Moray, the Maras salt mines, where salt is harvested in a traditional manner, and the Inca village of Ollantaytambo with its fortress overlooking the valley. Overnight at the Samanapaq hotel in Ollantaytambo.
Day 13 Macchu Picchu
Early in the morning, depart by train, following the narrow gorge of the Urubamba River to the village of Aguas Calientes (renamed Machu Picchu Pueblo), where a shuttle will take you to Machu Picchu. The lost city of the Incas, rediscovered barely a century ago, fascinates all travelers with its mysteries, the incredible beauty of the site, and the surrounding landscapes. This will undoubtedly be the highlight of your trip to Peru You will have a good part of the day to freely explore the corners of this extraordinary site. In the afternoon, descend back to Aguas Calientes to take the return train. Arrival in Cuzco in the evening, transfer, and overnight at the San Agustin Internacional hotel.
Day14 Cuzco
Day at leisure
Cuzco is the most fascinating city on a trip to Peru Its narrow streets combine the charm of colonial architecture with the unique character of the Inca stone foundations.
Strolling around Cusipata Square or the San Blas neighborhood, visiting the incredibly rich cathedral or one of the many museums in the city, dining in a restaurant with an extraordinary setting, discovering a varied and high-quality craft scene, and soaking up the unique Andean atmosphere are all reasons to want to spend at least one free day in this city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15 Cuzco – Puerto Maldonado
In the morning, transfer to the airport and flight to Puerto Maldonado. You enter the last part of this trip, “The 3 Perus,” the discovery of the Amazon. Arrival at the airport and transfer by boat to the Corto Maltés lodge. After lunch, your first encounter with the forest. A hike to discover a wide variety of medicinal plants, tropical trees, birds, insects, butterflies, and other animals. A short stop at a viewpoint to observe toucans, macaws, and other birds. Return to the lodge, and before dinner, a nighttime boat ride for a “caiman safari.” Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 16 Jungle
Wake up at 5:30 AM for a short 20-minute walk to reach the parrot clay lick: a wonderful spectacle of colors. After breakfast, depart by boat on the river for an expedition that will take you to Monkey Island, where several species live freely. Next, a 5 km hike through the lush vegetation of the rainforest to reach Lake Sandoval in the Tambopata-Candamo National Reserve. Many animal species live in this environment: birds (macaws, kingfishers, anhingas), various monkey species (squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys), otters, caimans, and piranhas. Paddling through the lake in a canoe until sunset will be an absolutely unforgettable moment of your trip. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 17 Jungle
After breakfast, you will navigate along the river for an hour and a half to visit a native community on Gamita Island. Two families will show you their customs, clothing, and way of life. You will then visit a plantation where tropical fruits and other local products are grown (cacao, banana, coffee, cocona) and enjoy a lunch with typical local dishes. Upon returning to the lodge, you can relax around the pool in the late afternoon before dinner. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 18 Puerto Maldonado – Lima
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you back to Puerto Maldonado where, depending on your flight schedule, you may have a short visit to the market. Then, flight to Lima in the late morning. Arrival in Lima and transfer to the hotel.

Day 19 LIMA OUT
Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
