Day 2 : Santa Cruz – Samaipata<\/b><\/p>\n

In the morning, departure by private vehicle to the village of Samaipata (“altitude rest” in Quechua), located at the foothills of the Andes at 1650 meters above sea level and on the edge of the tropical forest. En route, stop at the “Cascadas las Cuevas” to enjoy the natural pools and the beauty of the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, departure to the archaeological site “El Fuerte” and visit this ancient fortress built by the Incas to control the invasions of the Guarani Indians. Return to Samaipata in the late afternoon. <\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3 : Samaipata \u2013 Refugio Los Volcanes<\/b><\/p>\n

Departure in the morning to Ambor\u00f3 National Park, a natural reserve spanning over 600,000 hectares, ranging from 300 to 3200 meters above sea level, teeming with an exceptional variety of fauna and flora. Check-in at the eco-lodge “Refuge of the Volcanoes,” hidden deep in a valley. In the afternoon, hike in the park (self-guided hike or with the lodge’s guide). You can also take a dip in the waterfall located next to the lodge.<\/span><\/p>\n

PM: Departure to the Recoleta viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city of Sucre. Visit to the textile museum where different types of Andean textiles and weaving techniques from pre-Hispanic times to the present day are exhibited and explained. You will then walk down to the central square, where the main colonial buildings of the city are located, and visit the Casa de la Libertad, where the country’s independence was proclaimed, now turned into a museum about the history of Bolivia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 7 : Sucre – Maragua<\/b><\/p>\n

Early morning departure in a 4×4 towards the Chataquila Chapel (3650 meters) and the Frailles mountain range, the starting point of your hike on an ancient Inca trail (3 hours of mostly downhill walking, good shoes recommended). Upon arrival, the vehicle will take you towards Maragua, a hamlet in the middle of the crater. After the visit, back to Sucre in the late afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guided tour of the city of Potosi and the Casa de la Moneda, where the first coins of the American continent were minted. In addition to learning about the history of the Casa de la Moneda, you will also learn more about the history of Potosi and its crucial role in the global economy in the 16th century due to its rich silver deposits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 9: Potosi – Tupiza<\/b><\/p>\n

Departure for a visit to the mines of Cerro Rico, the incredibly rich mountain in silver that brought prosperity to Potosi and Spain from the 16th century. Mine tours at Cerro Rico often shed light on the social and environmental challenges faced by mining communities, such as dangerous working conditions, poverty, and health issues related to exposure to toxic substances.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the morning, you continue in a 4×4 towards Laguna Polques and then arrive at Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur volcano (5960 m). Next, you traverse the Dali Desert with its fabulous ignimbrite formations. From there, you ascend to an altitude of 4900 meters to discover the Sol de la Ma\u00f1ana geysers and the volcanic craters emitting sulfur vapors and heavy waters. You arrive at Laguna Colorada where you spend the night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Very early in the morning, departure towards the Uyuni Salt Flats (3650 meters) to witness the sunrise from the Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the Salt Flats, before the arrival of tourists from Uyuni. From the top of this surprising “island”, you will enjoy an extraordinary view of the Salt Flats and the Thunupa volcano, surrounded by giant cacti. After breakfast, you cross this immense sea of \u200b\u200bsalt towards Uyuni. You can stop for a walk, searching for “salt eyes”, and enjoy the amazing optical illusions and perspective crushes offered by this unique landscape. Along the way, have a picnic on this vast white carpet before reaching the village of Colchani, on the edge of the Salt Flats, where salt is traditionally harvested. Then, you ascend through the modern and residential neighborhoods to the historic center, where the presidential palace, parliament, and other colonial-era buildings are located. You will also take one of the many cable car lines to enjoy a magnificent view of the city and finish with a visit to the “Witches’ Market.”<\/span><\/p>\n

It was once the center of a prosperous civilization that thrived between 500 BC and 1000 AD. During your visit, you will learn more about the history and culture of this ancient people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tiwanaku is home to impressive ruins, including temples, palaces, ceremonial platforms, and carved monuments. Visitors can explore these monumental structures and learn more about their complex architecture and cultural significance.<\/span><\/p>\n
